APPLICANTS
BASIC RULES first of all, it should be obvious by now that the basic rules of rp apply here. be kind to other players, as this is a community and we'd like for it to have a strong community feel. do not cross ic/ooc. as for journal names, we require that they be in some variation of your character's name, be it first/last/firstlast/lastfirst/ or some varation of their innitials. also, keep in mind that we do not allow any extra letters, underscores, number, or extra characters and. while johndoe is ideal for your journal name, john_doe, or johndoe123 is not.	ON EXAMPLES AND WRITING ~incantatems was once invite only, and before it changed to being more public we required examples over all for your acceptence into the community. we expect that your writing is consistent. what we will mostly be looking for is: quality, quantity, and consistency. if we see that your replies consist of one liners, are short, or lacking in some way, you will more than likely be rejected! with that being said, we're not looking for journal entries, but if that is all you have for examples, don't be afraid to give us what you can for a writing sample. narratives also work.
ACCEPTANCE first of all, please do not barrate the mods about your application if you were rejected. there could be a number of reasons as to why you were rejected, but here are some of the main reasons we might reject your application: examples or the character overall. like stated above, we look for a certain style of writing. writing that shows us a lot of description and quantity/length. you will know you've been rejected because your application will be deleted. however, there are several other reasons you might have been rejected, such as failing to follow one or two simple rules with your journal name, or something else. if you were rejected and you feel you might like to give applying another try, then feel free to! there is a good chance that there is something that could easily be fixed on your character, examples, or anything else that may have caused you to be rejected.	OVERRIDES while this is a private group, we will require--and expect--you to introduce yourself upon acceptance. upon acceptance, we require that you post an in-character introduction in totalum. this can be anything you want, whether it is a question or a statement, so long as it is something to start out and allow interaction between characters. then if you would like, you can also post for lines or shaer information about your character in our story lines community, here! failure to do this will result in your character's pb being up for override, and then eventually, removal.

FOR MEMBERS

UPDATES AND ACTIVITY at ~incantatems, we require journal updates to be posted once every month! however, it can be in any way you want: narratives or gifs with a hover narrative, a gif linking to a song which might reflect your character in some way, or even an in-character discussion! along with requring updates to be posted once a month, we will also be having various kinds of activities as well. these will all count as activity: every month there will be various group things posted, such as out of character discussions for plotting, or in character discussions where characters can interact and talk to each other outside of hidden custsoms/parchments. we will often have monthly themes, group threads, custom/parchment exchanges as well as a player-driven daily prophet community where you can post news articles. these news articles can be about whatever you want, like a character escaping from azkaban or a quidditch team's success, something death eater, ministry, or auror related--it's here for you to get as creative as you want. why do we require so much group activities, discussions, threads etc? it is simple: with threading being behind customs now, it is hard to gauge how active some people are, and this is merely an easy way to keep the community feel that is so important in keeping ~incantatems alive.

HANDWRITING handwriting is something that is widely done in most, if not all, harry potter themed communities. we will allow members to claim a font here, and the font you use will represent what your character's handwriting looks like. this isn't requierd, but it is fun!

A WORD FROM THE MODS hello! this is just a quick note from the mods before you join the game, warning you that this game will be mature and may having triggering, dark material! with that being said, threads, narratives and gifs that may be triggering, mature, or dark should also hold a warning for the viewers of what the material may contain. this is a game which revolves around death eaters and aurors, and as such, will contain material suited for that type of setting. however, if you do decide to join despite this warning, please keep in mind that it doesn't mean your character will be targeted or singled out by other players without your permission! any and all character-driven plots will have consent from all writers involved, because our main focus here is to have fun and enjoy writing in our favorite fandom!
